ShiftPay — Privacy Policy

1. Information We Collect

a. User-Provided Data

When you use ShiftPay, you may enter information such as: pay frequency, salary, contracted hours, shift pattern and premiums, tax code, NI letter, pension settings, overtime and holiday entries, bonuses, and after-tax deductions.

b. Device-Generated Data

We use Google Firebase services which may collect limited technical data: crash logs (Firebase Crashlytics), app instance IDs, device information, and optional analytics events (Firebase Analytics).

2. How We Use Your Data

• Calculate your pay, overtime, and pension contributions.
• Display summaries, history, and reports in the app.
• Diagnose and fix technical problems.
• Improve app stability and future features.

3. Data Storage

Your personal financial and shift data is stored locally on your device. We do not receive this data unless you choose to export or share it. Crash and analytics data is processed by Google Firebase and stored on their servers.

4. Data Sharing

We do not sell or rent your personal information. Data may be shared only with service providers (currently Google Firebase) for diagnostics and analytics purposes, as described above.

5. Holidays & Overtime

Holiday and overtime entries are saved locally. Totals and reports are calculated on-device and shown only to you.

6. Children’s Privacy

ShiftPay is not directed to children under 13, or the minimum age required in your country.

7. Legal Bases & Rights

If you are located in the EEA, UK, or similar regions:

• Crash diagnostics are collected under legitimate interests.
• Analytics are collected only with consent where required.
• You may request access, correction, or deletion of data by contacting us.

8. Retention

• On-device data: kept until you delete it or uninstall the app.
• Crash/analytics data: retained by Firebase under their standard retention rules.

9. Security

On-device data stays in the app sandbox. Any network communication with Firebase is encrypted using HTTPS/TLS.

10. Changes

We may update this policy from time to time. Updates will be published at this page and noted in release notes.
