1. Information We Collect

a. Account Information (Optional)

If you choose to use Backup & Sync, you may sign in with your Google account. When you do this, we process:

• Your Google account email address
• A Firebase user ID associated with your account

This information is used solely to authenticate your account and enable cross-device synchronisation.

b. User-Generated Content

You may enter:

• Shift times and patterns
• Overtime entries
• Leave and holiday records
• Pay rates and multipliers
• Contracted hours
• Optional notes

If Backup & Sync (Pro Beta) is enabled, this information is securely stored in Google Firebase to allow syncing across your devices. If not enabled, it remains stored locally on your device.

c. Device & Technical Information

• App instance identifiers
• Device identifiers
• Device model and operating system version
• Crash reports (Firebase Crashlytics)
• Diagnostics
• Optional analytics events (if enabled)

This does not include your shift or pay records.

d. Subscription Information

Subscriptions are processed securely through Google Play Billing. We do not receive or store payment card details.

2. How We Use Your Data

• Provide shift and overtime calculations
• Enable Backup & Sync
• Maintain your account
• Improve stability and performance
• Diagnose technical issues

We do not use your data for advertising or profiling.

3. Data Storage

Local data is stored securely on your device. Synced data (if enabled) is stored in Google Firebase. All data transmitted is encrypted in transit using HTTPS/TLS.

4. Data Sharing

We do not sell or trade your data.

Data may be processed by:

• Google Firebase (authentication, database, analytics, crash reporting)
• Google Play (subscription processing)

No advertisers or employers have access to your personal shift data.

5. Account & Data Deletion

If you use Google Sign-In, you may request deletion of your account and associated cloud data.

You may also remove local data at any time by uninstalling the app.

6. Retention

• Local data: retained until deleted or app is uninstalled
• Synced cloud data: retained until account deletion
• Crash and analytics data: retained under Firebase policies

7. Children’s Privacy

ShiftPay is not intended for children under 13 (or the minimum age required in your jurisdiction).

8. Legal Rights

If you are located in the UK, EEA, or similar jurisdictions, you may have rights under data protection laws including access, correction, and deletion.

9. Security

We implement reasonable safeguards to protect your information. All communication with cloud services is encrypted.

10. Changes to This Policy

We may update this policy periodically. Updates will be published at this URL.
